All completely individual, each room has been furnished in a traditionally luxurious and bespoke style to offer every visitor absolute comfort. The rooms are named after the famous greyhounds bred at Shortflatt Tower in the late 1800's by Neddy Dent.

All of our bed linen is top quality Egyptian cotton. We use top quality goose feather and down duvets and pillows but can provide an alternative if specifically requested at time of booking. Clean linen is provided once a week unless otherwise requested.

All bedrooms have dressing tables, drawers, bedside tables and wardrobe space as well as soft furnishings. Hairdryers and towels are also provided.

The Tower Bathroom
A beautiful attic room with the original beams exposed. It consists of a shower room adjoining a large cosy bathroom with a huge cast-iron roll top bath, a chaise lounge and sky light views. This is a room for serious luxury bathing!

The Stair Bathroom
A large original cast-iron bath surrounded by unique green Brazilian granite. It has a large sash window with views of the tower and garden. When you are in the bath you can see the dramatic battlements of the tower against the sky.

The Hall Bathroom
Another luxurious bathroom with a roll top cast iron bath and antique furnishings.

Isis & Iris
Both have en-suite shower rooms with beautiful travertine marble tiles and extremely good quality rain showers.

Situated at the very top of the tower this room offers you unique opportunity to step out onto a secure area of the rooftop with breath taking views of the rolling fields and woodland which make up this picturesque Northumberland landscape. On a clear day you can see the Belsay Castle and grounds in the distance. Below you is the walled garden and beautiful quartz stone fountain – especially spectacular when light up at night.

From the skylights of this room, you have a direct view of the tower crenulations and the woodland around the building.

Pretty Nell (Master Bedroom)
The most spacious and lavish room in the tower, Pretty Nell gives the feeling of true grandeur. A super king sized bed adorned with the softest white Egyptian cotton bedding. Other comforts include a luxurious velvet, crimson couch and foot stool, an extra large flat screen TV and walk in wardrobe. To the east you can look out of a glass window crafted to fit the original tower arrow slit with striking views of the estate’s grounds and woodland.

The master bathroom has a free standing double ended roll top bath and separate shower room. With a chaise lounge and comfortable armchair, exposed 13th century beams and skylight views of the Tower, this is a truly luxurious room to spend time in.

Miss Glen Dyne
Situated in the Tower next to the master bedroom, miss Glen Dyne has a tranquil calm feel, with golden fabrics and a wonderful view of the west lawn. From this room you can enjoy views of the wonderfully maintained west lawn and flower borders.

Young Fullerton
Situated next to the Tower sitting room, the antique furniture beautifully compliments the rich, deep reds and greens detailed on the floral design of the fabric used for the curtains and beds. As a focal point to this room, there is a striking white marble and cast-iron fireplace. It also has views of the west lawn, flower borders and 19th century stone garden walls.

The above rooms are all in the original Tower and have four foot thick walls. This means that there are beautiful walk in window reveals. Where possible we have provided a comfortable chair so you can relax and read a book or simply enjoy the view.

Bit of Fashion
Situated at the top of the main staircase. This is a beautiful bright airy room. As you enter, you are welcomed with gentle pinks and purples, maroons and the odd touch of red in the elegant swirling designs adorning the fabrics of the curtains and upholstery.

Gallant Foe
Situated in the corridor at the top of the main staircase. This room is a perfect example of traditional, luxurious country house accommodation. The bed is a late George III four poster decorated with curtains and canopies. The room is furnished with other antique furniture, pictures and mirrors.

Bit of Fashion and Gallant Foe both have comfortable window seats where you can sit and enjoy the views to the south.

The Library Bedroom Suite
Decorated in a relaxing light green, the Library bedroom is our only ground floor bedroom. It has a door onto the patio and into the garden and is situated next to the Library itself. It has an en suite bathroom with both a bath and seperate shower. The Library suite is available at an extra cost.

All of our bedrooms have wonderful views of the walled gardens and surrounding countryside. Every room is individually furnished with traditional fabrics and antique furniture. The beds are of the best quality, made up with the softest Egyptian cotton bed linen.
